Prelude to a civil war

John Nickle from Facebook

This is what the prelude to a civil war looks like:

With its southern-dominated Democratic majority, the Senate approved the admission of Kansas as a slave state on March 23, 1858. In the House, the administration could count on at least half of the northern Democrats, as in 1854. But this time, that was not enough to win the battle.

“Battle” was not too strong a word for events in the House. On one occasion during an all-night session, Republican Galusha Grow of Pennsylvania walked over to the Democratic side to confer with a few northern Democrats. Lawrence Keitt of South Carolina shouted at him: “Go back to your side of the House, you Black Republican puppy!”

Replying with a sneering remark about slave drivers, Grow grappled with Keitt and knocked him down. Congressmen from both sides rushed into the melee. “There were some fifty middle-aged and elderly gentlemen pitching into each other like so many Tipperary savages,” wrote a reporter describing this 2:00 a.m. free-for-all, “most of them incapable, from want of wind and muscle, of doing each other any serious harm.”

But Alexander Stephens believed that “if any weapons had been on hand, it would probably have been a bloody one. All things here are tending my mind to the conclusion that the Union cannot and will not last long.”

My point of view:

This is history. It is politics at its worst. It is how division of thinking can be allowed to become outright violence, even among what are considered normally civilized people. These are the reasons the South seceded from the Union. Don’t say that this will not happen today.

This is exactly the type of split that has been happening in Congress over the argument about closing and then reopening the Federal Government. Are you smart enough to see that the separation into political parties just adds fuel to this type of blaze? When we take sides without weighing the pros and cons of an argument, we fail to have the opportunity for compromise.

Compromise is what businesses and governments are built on. Agreeing to disagree and get on with what needs to be done is what made companies grow and America great. America will not be great if our representatives cannot solve their own differences.

We are only as great as our weakest link, and at this moment, it seems to be our elected officials. When we vote next August and November, we need to ensure that the candidates we support can set aside petty partisan differences and get their jobs done. I believe the only way to do this is to elect non-partisan candidates.

That New Car smell

On November 23rd, 2014, President Barach Obama stated that voters will want a Presidential candidate in 2016 that has “a new car smell”. This leads many of those in Springfield, Missouri to comment on the current “odor” in the White House. Being a staunch Republican part of the state, Ozarkers usually have little positive to say about any Democrat.

Looking from a Christian perspective, how should this comment be viewed from a non-partisan point of view? When you purchase a brand-new car, you expect not to notice the stench of previous owners. Can this concept be translated into the political arena?

The only way a car has that “new car smell”, is if it has never been owned before. Those who always buy pre-owned vehicles are not familiar with this fragrance. Neither are voters. No presidential candidate in the recent past has not had the contamination of a previous owner.

The “one owner” vehicle still does not have the same aura as the “no owner.” What the voter wants is a candidate for governor, congress, senate or president that has not been “purchased” before. The stench of another who has control of them should not be there.

Used car dealers have many methods to try to fake the “new car smell”. Anyone who believes that people who have been in politics previously can be brought back to a pre-politics state is either gullible or deceiving themselves. An honest politician can be as useful as a pre-owned vehicle. Or it can be a lemon.

They may both have high miles. If well maintained, taken care of properly, and allowed to work the way they are meant to, they can do and be better than they were before. The problem remains that those who are committed to being our representatives must put our country or state above their political jobs.

For the most part, I did anything I was asked to do for every company I worked for. I wanted to move ahead. I needed to earn as much as I could for my family. There were jobs that I left because the promises that were made were not followed through on.

At another job, I stood up for myself, and they fired me and reported that I had tried to get fired. I was able to refute this with the unemployment people. It surprised me that I had trouble finding a new job after this until I followed advice and dropped them from my resume’. The next position I applied for, I was offered and accepted. I had to cut all ties with that organization and refuse to acknowledge I was ever associated with them.

I understand why Republicrats and Demicans do not want to rock the boat. I believe 2026 is the year to replace the stench that is in our government. This smell gets worse every time our President or anyone else tries to violate our Constitution, force his or her opinion upon our laws, take credit for what others have done, or use their positions to attack those that disagree with him.

State legislatures changing congressional lines to strengthen their parties make me decide never to vote for another member of a political party. What about you? From the time I first registered to vote I have been non-partisan. A Republicrat in Greene County Missouri tried to force this eighteen-year-old to declare as one of two parties. That is still against Federal law.

George Washington and others opposed political parties. The Federalists under Thomas Jefferson changed that and now we can’t get our elected officials to do the jobs we pay them for because political bosses threaten them.

In 2026 I am asking everyone who agrees with me to revolt against the party system in our government. We need state assembly and senate personnel who will change our laws to no longer force us to choose on a party basis to vote. In Missouri a non-Partisan ballot in our primary election has no candidates.

You can change this. When your state allows you to register to run for an office you think you are qualified for, declare that you are not a part of any party. There are elected officials in Greene County that were Republicans or Democrats when elected. If they want my vote in 2026 they should be on my non-Partisan ballot in the primary election. This goes for state and national offices as well.

There is only one way to keep America great and that is by dumping all party affiliations. They will not go quietly. Some have jumped from one group to another to use the party power to get what they want. They lie, cheat, steal, and kill to eliminate the competition.

That is why our federal government is shut down today because these infants don’t want to work together. Our republican democracy will not survive if we allow this fighting go on any longer. Join me in this revolt. Run as a non-partisan candidate. Vote for non-Partisan candidates only. Let’s get back that new candidate smell.

President of spin

Am I talking about Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, or Joe Biden? I’m not talking about any of the democrats that the seventh district Republicans like to denigrate. We all want to condemn those with whom we do not agree. We can’t agree with those who want abortion to be legal. We cannot approve anything that the LGBTQ+ community supports.

The fastest way for a candidate to gain support from the “Christian” community is to attack abortionists and gay organizations. One can divorce and remarry, and that is tolerated. You may abuse your wife or children. You may call the people you disagree with names. You can lie about them. Accuse them of destroying our economy when their policies have caused it to recover from the bad decisions that you made.

Be sure that you spin them as being bad. Criticize what they have done. Take credit for the positive things that you had nothing to do with. Find groups of terrible people that we all want to force from our society. Criminals are perfect for this. There is no one worse than those who are not in our country legally.

Promise to deport these lawbreakers. When you start this process, do not worry about what it means to be a criminal. You are from the wrong side of the border, so you must go even if you follow our laws and have done nothing wrong. How can we make this sound like it is appropriate? That person is a gang member, even if there is no proof of this.

How many times does it take for you to tell a lie before people believe it? Do not look at those you don’t like as being innocent until proven guilty. Yes, that is in our Constitution. Who cares about that old document? If it disagrees with me, I will not let it stop me from doing what I want to do.

If I am the governor of a state, then what happens on the national front is of no consequence to me. If it looks like the Attorney General of the U.S. or any state has lied, misplaced, or destroyed documents, this is of no interest to any other politician, especially from the same party. Whatever you do, you cannot allow any facts that might make one of your own parties look bad to reach the voting public.

You do know that we are right and anyone who disagrees with us must be pure evil. We want to help those who need the help the most. Billionaires are having such a difficult time paying for their seventh house and supporting their twentieth mistress and her family. After all, I helped her get off welfare, at least if she has sex with me.

It does not matter what party you vote for; if these are your beliefs, you will get what you voted for. A despotic government that will turn on you when they’ve murdered all the intelligent people. Pull your head out of your rear and look at the candidates in 2026. How have they treated their enemies for the last year? You could be one of those evil people they will hate.
